All you’ll need is a clicker, high-value treats, and your dog or puppy (ideally, on a leash so they don’t wander off)!
This game is excellent for teaching your dog default focus behaviors.
This game is perfect for teaching your dog to disengage and check in with you on walks when there can be really good smells. It also is great for practicing recall!
For this one you will need a small distraction — either a toy/play barking sounds on YouTube. This is the perfect game for dogs who really struggle with distractions on walks.
If your dog struggles at any point, try making the game easier by moving to a less distracting environment, or shape the behavior instead. Feel like you need support? Join us in the Focus First Program, where we go over everything your dog needs to know in order to be a well-behaved pup. Not only will you learn how to get your dog’s focus, but you’ll also learn how to advance fundamental behaviors like recall, leave it, go to your bed, and more! Plus, you’ll get expert feedback on your video homework from a certified dog trainer.
